INTL Cross-Cultural Communication Simulation

#NSLCINTL students participated in a cross-cultural communication simulation last night. This interactive game is designed to teach students about the importance of culture in group interaction. Students were divided into two groups, the Bindavians and the Mindalicans, and taught their new cultural norms. These cultures are purposefully designed to be very different. Then, the students were given the opportunity to take turns visiting and interacting with the other cultures to try to determine what their cultural norms and rules were. At the end, everyone debriefed to talk about the importance of openness and flexibility in interacting with individuals and groups from different walks of life.

INTL Visits the Embassy of Saudi Arabia

#NSLCINTL students visited the Embassy of Saudi Arabia today. At the end of their talk, our hosts had some of the students dress up in traditional Saudi clothing and explained when and where each garment would be worn.
