Today, the US History and Government students participated in a simulation that aided in explaining the fundamentals of federalism. Students created their own governments and were asked to make the best choices regarding resources and trade. They were then introduced to the concept of dividing power between their regional governments and the national government. Students worked together to help each of their governments succeed by donating some of their “resources” to the federal government.
