The students rotated through two workshops to develop their architectural skills. In the Basics of Shading workshop, students sketched and shaded a still life drawing of an object in the front of the room, paying careful attention to how the light shaped it. The students then got an introduction to CAD, or Computer Aided Design, where they took their skills from yesterday’s drafting workshop to the next level. For students already familiar with CAD, the lesson showed them new commands and shortcuts that they can use in future work.
