Thank you all so much for taking the time to follow #NSLCatGU updates this summer! As a reminder, all of the content that we produced (with the exception of Instagram Stories, which disappear 24 hours after they are posted – highlights are still available!) is available throughout the year should you wish to revisit your/your student’s NSLC experience.
Click here to view (and download, if you so choose, via a laptop or desktop computer) some of the photos taken for all summer 2018 sessions at Georgetown on Flickr.

#NSLCINTL students participated in a cross-cultural communication simulation last night. This interactive game is designed to teach students about the importance of culture in group interaction. Students were divided into two groups, the Bindavians and the Mindalicans, and taught their new cultural norms. These cultures are purposefully designed to be very different. Then, the students were given the opportunity to take turns visiting and interacting with the other cultures to try to determine what their cultural norms and rules were. At the end, everyone debriefed to talk about the importance of openness and flexibility in interacting with individuals and groups from different walks of life.
Check out this video to hear from two of our students about their impressions of this simulation:
#NSLCINTL students visited the Embassy of Saudi Arabia today. At the end of their talk, our hosts had some of the students dress up in traditional Saudi clothing and explained when and where each garment would be worn.

#NSLCLAWA students learned about the Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday. Special Agent Scott Hoernke and Assistant Special Agent Mike Rothermund came to campus to speak to students about what they do as agents of the DEA and how students could follow various career paths to the agency.
